Buddhist monk on happiness

Earlier today, I received a guest lecture on human happiness and creativity from a Buddhist monk.

By sharing his philosophy and wisdom on such a topic, it seemed like he had it all figured out. He had the secrets to eternal happiness, peace, calmness, and control. One of life’s toughest problems, solved, practiced and well-ingrained into his mind.

I asked him, “Do you yourself ever experience unhappiness or withdrawal from creativity then?” to which he chuckled and responded, “Of course I do, I’m human.”

It’s important to be accepting and aware of the world around you before you go around to try and change things, because happiness (and negativity) take up non-physical amounts of space and are able to spread osmotically.
